Perreca Electric places the safety of our people and clients as its number one priority. Our commitment for safety begins with top management through all levels of field personnel. This commitment places our electrical safety program as one of the best in the industry.
Our Safety Director
We are the only electrical contractor in the Hudson Valley with a full time electrical safety director, Matthew Gershowitz. As a member of IBEW Local 363 for over twenty years, Matt has developed invaluable experience in the electrical industry. Matt’s interest in safety began after being appointed the lead Electrical Emergency Responder during the construction of the Cricket Valley Energy site. This experience ignited a profound commitment to workplace well-being. Matt has certifications as an OSHA outreach trainer in general construction and fall protection, N.S.C. first aid instructor, and C.E.S.C.P. with NFPA 70E. With a deep understanding of the unique challenges in the electrical field, Matt’s dedication is focused on continuing to cultivate the world-class safety culture Perreca Electric has already developed. His mission extends beyond mitigating risks; it’s about empowering our team with knowledge and practices that foster a secure, efficient, and above all a safe work environment for everyone. As Safety Director, Matt will uphold the highest safety standards, ensuring each team member works safely on the job each day.

As a leading electrical contractor in the Hudson Valley, we employ electricians that are trained and licensed to perform every aspect of electrical and fiber optic work, including hazardous environments following the current guidelines. Our employees have the following training certifications:

Safety Programs & Plans
Perreca Electric is an active participant in the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Voluntary Protection Plan (VPP) which is an effective safety and health management program that recognizes and promotes the efforts of employees and employers who have achieved outstanding safety and health records. We are also a partner with the New York State Department of Labor On-Site Consultation Program. This program assists us to maintain a rigorous safety program which:
- Reduces Accidents
- Lowers Injury Rates
- Reduces Workers’ Compensation Costs
- Implements Safety and Health Programs
- Complies with OSHA Regulations
